Description
HARLEM LEAD BAR: THE DEDICATED CONTROL SYSTEM
The Harlem Lead Bar is built on the philosophy that less is more. In a world of over-engineered control systems, the Lead Bar stands out by being incredibly light, clean, and intuitive. Every component has been scrutinized to reduce weight, resulting in a bar that enhances the “telepathic” feel of your Harlem kite. Whether you are throwing technical loops on the Peak or carving waves on the Flow, this bar provides the precise feedback you need.
OUR HONEST TAKE: BUILT FOR HARLEM
We believe in being straight with you: The Lead Bar is really designed for flying Harlem kites. While it technically follows a 4-line Low-V standard, there is little point in getting this bar for other brands. Its 48.5cm width and 22m line length are specifically balanced to work with the unique PROWELD construction of the Harlem quiver. If you own a Harlem kite, this is the bar that unlocks its full potential; if you don’t, you won’t get the specific performance benefits it was engineered to provide.
- Perfect Bridle Geometry: The lines split at the exact point needed to keep the Harlem airframe from distorting.
- Optimized Feedback: The bar’s weight and 22m length are matched to the fast reactive speed of Harlem’s lightweight kites.
- Total Integration: From the depower travel to the safety flagging distance, every millimetre is tuned for the Harlem range.
TECH SPEC (IN PLAIN ENGLISH)
- 48.5cm Bar Width: The “sweet spot” size that is nimble enough for a 7m Peak but stable enough for a 12m Thrive.
- 22m SK99 Flylines: The highest-grade lines available. They have virtually zero stretch and are thinner than standard lines, meaning less drag and a more direct feel.
- Slim Grip Diameter: A thinner bar is less tiring for your hands. It allows for a more relaxed grip, which is a game-changer for long sessions or high-intensity big air.
- Auto-Untwist Function: Features a ceramic swivel that untwists your front lines automatically when you sheet in. No more manually spinning the swivel after a rotation.
- Quick-Matic II Release: A simple, push-away safety system that is incredibly easy to reload—just click it back into place like a seatbelt.
REAL-WORLD DURABILITY
Despite its light weight, the Lead Bar is built for the long haul. We’ve had these in our school rotation for three years now. The ceramic bearings in the swivel don’t rust or seize in salt water, and the TPU-covered depower lines prevent the friction wear that usually snaps standard ropes. It’s a “pro-grade” tool that handles the abuse of daily use without losing its crisp feel.
