Description
REEDIN SNACKPACK: THE HYBRID “FUN-BOARD” FOR EVERY SESSION
The Reedin SnackPack is a bit of an outlier in the kiting world. It’s not a twin-tip, and it’s not quite a surfboard—it’s a hybrid designed to maximize the “fun factor” on days that aren’t quite perfect. It features a symmetrical surfboard-style shape with straps, allowing you to ride it in both directions without ever having to switch your feet. It’s the board for the rider who wants to play in the surf but keep the simplicity of a twin-tip session.

OUR GENUINE TAKE: A TOY FOR SPECIFIC DAYS
We’ve spent a lot of time on the SnackPack, and our honest opinion is that it’s a fantastic toy, but it probably won’t be your only board. Here is how it actually rides in the real world:
- The Best Conditions: It is incredibly fun in conditions we often see at spots like Greatstone—onshore winds with smaller waves and messy kickers. It allows you to catch a wave when the opportunity arises, then immediately turn around and jump off the next kicker in the same session.
- Easy Mode: Because it has straps and a symmetrical shape, you don’t have to learn surfboard transitions. You can just “tack” like a twin-tip. It’s the perfect way to get a taste of wave riding without the frustration of falling during foot changes.
- The Reality Check: It’s a “jack of all trades, master of none.” Because of the surfboard-style rails, it’s harder to hold a sharp edge for massive jumps compared to a twin-tip. Similarly, it’s not as good as a dedicated surfboard for carving—it’s really only suited for catching smaller waves and playing around.
TECH SPEC (IN PLAIN ENGLISH)
Here’s what makes the SnackPack feel the way it does:
- Symmetrical Surf Shape: It looks like a surfboard but has the same nose and tail. This means you can ride it “blind” or regular without needing to jibe.
- Full EVA Deck Pad: The whole top is covered in grip. It’s comfortable on the feet and provides great cushioning when you’re bouncing over chop.
- Twin-Tip Fin Setup: It uses four fins like a twin-tip, which gives it that familiar “locked-in” feel when you’re cruising upwind.
- Lightweight Construction: Despite its volume, it’s light enough to toss around and feels playful underfoot.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Can I ride this strapless?
While you can take the straps off, the board is really designed to be ridden with them to get the most out of the hybrid performance.
Is it good for light wind?
Yes! It has more volume and surface area than a standard twin-tip, so it will get you going much earlier when the wind is marginal.
Can I still jump with it?
Yes, but don’t expect to beat your height records. It’s great for “fun” jumps and sent transitions, but the edge hold is limited for high-power boosting.
