HARLEM PEAK: THE 5-STRUT POWERHOUSE FOR JUMPING PURISTS
The Harlem Peak was designed for the riders who look at the forecast and only care about one number: the jump height. By fusing high-performance 5-strut stability with Brainchild’s revolutionary production methods, they’ve created a kite that has the “grunt” to launch you like a rocket but doesn’t feel like a heavy truck in the sky. It’s stiff, it’s fast, and it’s built for the podium.
The Peak in its element:
PAWEL’S PRO TAKE (HEAD INSTRUCTOR)
“To be totally honest, I usually prefer 3-strut kites because I like them light and playful. But the first time I sent a jump on the Peak, I actually laughed out loud. It doesn’t just pull you up; it accelerates you. What really caught me off guard was the ‘second lift’—you’re at the top of your jump, and the kite just keeps you hanging there a second longer than you expect. It’s not a kite I’d take in the waves, and I wouldn’t use it for a lazy cruise, but if the wind is 30 knots and I want to beat my personal best, this is the only kite I’m reaching for.”

BRAINCHILD & PROWELD: THE NEW STANDARD IN PRODUCTION
The Harlem Peak isn’t made in a traditional kite factory. It is born out of Brainchild, the brainchild of Ralf Groesel (the designer behind some of the most iconic kites in history) in collaboration with Aaron Hadlow. Their mission was to move away from 30-year-old sewing techniques and embrace PROWELD technology.
Why is PROWELD a game-changer?
- Molecular Fusion: Traditional kites are sewn together, meaning thousands of needle holes are punched into the leading edge. PROWELD uses a welding process to fuse the panels edge-to-edge. This creates a bond that is actually stronger than the fabric itself.
- Zero Deformation: When you send a massive kiteloop, a sewn seam can “hinge” or stretch slightly at the stitch holes. A welded seam is a solid, continuous structure. This makes the Peak’s frame incredibly stiff, ensuring it holds its aerodynamic shape even in 40+ knots.
- Weight vs. Strength: By removing the heavy thread, reinforcement tapes, and overlapping fabric needed for sewing, Harlem has stripped significant weight from the kite. You get the stability of 5 struts with the weight of a traditional 3-strut kite.
- Smooth Airflow: Look closely at the leading edge; there are no “speed bumps” from folded seams. Air flows over the kite more efficiently, sitting it further forward in the window for better upwind drive and cleaner lift.
REAL-WORLD DURABILITY: 3 YEARS IN THE AIR
Because the material feels crisper and thinner than traditional dacron, it’s natural to wonder if it can handle a heavy crash. We’ve had these kites in our local rotation for three years now, and the verdict is in: they are absolute tanks. Because PROWELD eliminates those thousands of needle holes, the kite doesn’t ‘bag out’ or lose its shape over time. We still see the original V1 versions out there every windy day, looping just as hard as the day they were unboxed. A weld doesn’t fray or rot like thread does—it’s built for the long haul.
WHO IS THIS KITE FOR?
The Peak is for riders who are serious about jumping and jumping high. It’s for the purist who wants a rock-solid airframe that handles extreme power without flinching. If your goal is to see a bigger number on your Woo and you want a kite that provides a vertical takeoff and a massive “catch” after a loop, this is the tool for the job.
TECHNICAL SUMMARY
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| PROWELD Technology | Edge-to-edge welded seams for maximum stiffness and minimum weight. |
| 7-Point Bridle | Keeps the kite stable and structural in the most extreme conditions. |
| Digital Eco-Printing | Reduces ink weight and chemical waste; better for the kite and the planet. |
| High Aspect Ratio | Flatter, wider shape for that “elevator” vertical launch and floaty landings. |
