HARLEM FLOW: THE MASTER OF DRIFT AND FLOW
The Harlem Flow is the choice for the “soul kiters”—the ones who live for the surf and the silent glide of a hydrofoil. By combining a 3-strut stability with Brainchild’s PROWELD lightweight construction, Harlem has created a kite that defies gravity. It’s built to be nimble, fast-turning, and above all, to ‘drift’ effortlessly when you are riding toward the kite on a wave.
PAWEL’S PRO TAKE (HEAD INSTRUCTOR)
“If I’m grabbing a surfboard or my foil, I’m grabbing the Flow. Most wave kites are 3-strut and can feel a bit heavy, but because the Flow is welded (PROWELD), it’s incredibly light. You can literally ride down a wave, completely slack the lines, and the kite just hangs there waiting for you. It pivots on its axis without pulling you off your edge, which is exactly what you need for tight turns in the pocket. It’s not a jumping machine like the Peak, but for pure liquid flow, nothing touches it.”
— Pawel, Infinity Sport
PROWELD & BRAINCHILD: WHY IT WORKS FOR SURF
The Flow benefits from the same high-end Brainchild production as the rest of the Harlem range. The PROWELD technology is even more critical here than in a Big Air kite:
- Weight is Everything: In surf and foil, a heavy kite is your enemy. By welding the seams instead of sewing them, Harlem removes the ‘dead weight’ of thread and overlap tape. This allows the Flow to stay airborne in much lighter winds.
- Responsive Steering: Because the welded frame is stiffer than a stitched one, the kite reacts to your bar input instantly. When you need to loop the kite to stay on a wave, it moves with zero lag.
- Structural Integrity: Wave kites take a beating. PROWELD’s molecular bond means there are no needle holes to stretch out over time, keeping the kite’s ‘factory-fresh’ feel for years.
REAL-WORLD DURABILITY: TRIED AND TESTED
We know the material feels thinner and more technical than your old dacron kite. But don’t let that fool you. We’ve had the Harlem range in our school and local waters for three years now. We’ve seen these kites tumbled in the surf and ridden hard in the sun, and the welded seams simply do not fail. Thread rots and frays; a weld is permanent. These kites are built to last as long as your passion for the waves does.
WHO IS THIS KITE FOR?
The Flow is a specialist tool. If you are serious about wave riding or hydrofoiling, this is your kite. It sits deeper in the window to provide consistent pull and has a fast, pivotal turn that doesn’t generate an overwhelming ‘yank.’ If you want to boost 20 meters, look at the Peak. If you want to carve, drift, and glide, the Flow is the master.
