We push this board in-store because we believe in the tech. However, riding a full carbon board in the UK requires a specific type of design. Here is our honest breakdown of how it handles our home spot:
- Explosive Vertical Pop: The Biax Carbon construction acts like a loaded spring. When you load your edge for a jump, the board doesn’t “fold” or dampen your energy; it snaps back, giving you that extra meter of height that standard glass boards simply can’t reach.
- Chop Management: Carbon boards are notoriously “chattery” in Greatstone’s messy waters. Eleveight has solved this with the V3 by using a Multi-Stage Rocker and reinforced rail pop. It cuts through the white water rather than bouncing over it.
- Weight & Swing Weight: It is exceptionally light. This makes board-offs and rotations feel much more natural, as you aren’t fighting the centrifugal force of a heavy deck.
The Genuine Critique (The “No-Hype” Zone)
At Infinity, we believe in being honest with our customers. The Stellar V3 is a premium beast, but it isn’t for everyone:
- The “Carbon Feel”: If you have sensitive knees or prefer a very “lazy” damp ride, the Stellar might feel too direct for you. It provides a lot of feedback from the water—which is great for performance, but can be tiring on a 3-hour session if you aren’t used to it.
- Careful Handling: Carbon is strong but can be brittle on impact. While it handles the water perfectly, you need to treat it with more care on the beach than a standard glass board. Avoid dropping it on the pebbles at Greatstone!

When riding the South Coast, we have to consider tide pull and thick winter wetsuits. Because the Stellar V3 is carbon, it is highly efficient upwind, allowing you to ride a slightly more performance-oriented size without struggling in the lulls.
