High-Performance Tech Meets Greatstone Beach: The Harlem Demo Day

On the 21st of April, the Infinity Sport Kitesurfing community was testing the latest “Game Changer” lineup from Harlem. With a shop full of coffee and a beach full of kites, it was the perfect opportunity for the community to get hands-on with some of the most innovative gear in the industry. Here is the breakdown of how the day went and why these kites are making such a massive splash in the UK scene.

The Tech: Why Harlem is a “Game Changer”

The buzz around the Harlem “Game Changer” line is all down to how they’ve rebuilt the kite frame from the ground up. By utilizing ProWeld technology—essentially welding the leading edge instead of using traditional heavy stitching—they’ve stripped away significant weight while actually increasing the stiffness of the airframe.

In plain English: On the water, this means the kite feels incredibly “crisp.” There’s no delay between you moving the bar and the kite reacting. Because the frame is so light, it stays in the air in conditions where other kites might stall, yet it’s stiff enough to hold its shape when the wind really picks up. It feels energetic, predictable, and recovers from loops like a rocket.

Coffee, Kites, and Coaching

We kicked things off at the Infinity Shop with a quick caffeine fix and a technical briefing. It was a privilege to have UK legends Lewis Crathern and Aaron Hadlow representing the brand. They walked us through the Harlem philosophy—explaining the “why” behind the design—and gave everyone specific pointers on what to pay attention to while on the water. Lewis and Aaron even dropped some gold nuggets on how to tweak your technique to send it just a little bit higher.

From the shop, we headed to Greatstone beach and pumped up a fleet of 15 kites. This was a rare opportunity for riders to do a true back-to-back test. You could go out on a 3-strut kite, come back in, and immediately head back out on the 5-strut version of the exact same size. Testing gear in identical conditions is the only way to truly see how those design differences affect your ride.

World Champions at Your Service!

One of the best parts of the day was the vibe on the sand. We love seeing the look on people’s faces when they realize they can actually put a multiple-time World Champion to work! While it might feel a bit surreal to have Lewis helping you pump up a kite or checking your lines, that’s exactly what these days are about. We want you to treat the pros like your personal beach caddies—they are there to help you get the best session possible.

There is zero sales pressure at these events; we just want you to get out there and experience the gear. In an ideal world, everyone would get to try kites in all sorts of conditions before choosing their next setup, and this is our way of making that happen. We’re just stoked to let you “try before you buy” so you can geek out with us over the silly details like bridle attachment points or the type of stitching used.

We have a full calendar of demo days coming to Infinity throughout 2026. If you missed this one, keep a close eye on our updates so you can come down and try the next generation of gear for yourself. We love giving people the chance to try different kites and having a proper chat about the technical side of the sport we love.

See you at the next one!
